Rules are rules and they have to be followed, but dumb rules should not have to be followed--yet they are still enforced.
Such was the case in Ohio recently when Harding High (Marion, OH) running back L.J. Scott jumped over a defender and scampered his way to a 50-yard touchdown only to see it called back because he went too beast-mode and jumped the defender.
Apparently there is a rule against that in Ohio, but there is an exception if the defender is on the way down--which it looks to me the defender was doing.
Yeah, this kid got hosed.
